A Call for Prayer for this Nation-Day Three

I am truly tired of politicians, in general, and quite a number in particular, mainly because of their proclivities, extra curricular activities, like paying off a mistress with $121,000. Almost daily, there is another story about those "in charge," living "quite large." They are,  I don't even want to use the "feeding at the public trough" metaphor, but it is so appropriate!

A Democratic congressman, who replaced a Republican congressman, after the Republican was allegedly found to be in "close consultation," with a congressional page, took his replacement duties very seriously. He replaced one alleged proclivity with a more "impressive" proclivity. After promising to "clean up things," he allegedly "cleaned up" with a female staffer, then decided to "separate" from her. He indulged in some rather "salty" exchanges with the mistress/staffer. He told her who was in charge. She, fully versed in her rights, threatened to sue for sexual harassment. The congressman, doing what any congressman flush with cash would do, shared the wealth. Then the news broke, including audio and visual of the exchanges. Sorry about the confusion. The word "exchanges" should be replaced with "conversations."

Now that I have had a "quiet rant," it is time for quiet meditation, time for today's prayer for this nation, prayer that politicians such as the "one hundred twenty one thousand congressman," will see the error of their ways, and repent. This morning as I read the following two verses from Ezekiel, I had no idea how apropos to this story, would be the message.

Ezekiel 36:25-26 (King James Version)

 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Psalm 8:3-8

 3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

So, to all of those who think that it is the reverse, it is not. God gave us dominion over His other creatures, not vice versa. It is time that we honor His hierarchy and stop worshipping the wrong beings.

Please continue to pray.
