A Call for Prayer for this Nation-Day Thirteen
I just spent two hours this evening with over twenty kids from two years old to over thirteen years old, at our church's monthly kids fun night. We, and I definitely include myself in there, decorated pumpkins, sang songs of praise, and were encouraged to view Halloween with the carving, cleaning and decorating of the pumpkins, not as a time of scary ghosts and goblins, but as reflecting the way that God works in our lives.
Given my acknowledged lack of artistry in decorating pumpkins, I decided that it would be safe for me to enter my pumpkin into the competition for the five year olds and under. One kid looked me straight in the face and declared that I am at least over twenty five. I will take it. When anyone questions my twenty-somethng status, I will be able to produce this kid as my "expert" witness!
This evening was good for my soul. Not one minute did I think about the world financial markets dropping the lowest they have been in five years. Not even for one second did I think about any politicians and their competing visions of how to further erode (intentionally or unintentionally), my quality of life, by making me pay for whatever is the pet project of the day.
But alas, this interlude of fun must and has come to an end, so I am back to asking God to deliver this country from any ghouls and goblins who may be waiting in the wings in less than two weeks. I am not talking about October 31. November 4 could be the day when, if stories about voter fraud are to be believed, folks long dead, could show up at the voting booths. I hope that they at least make the right choice for the country.
So, to ward off both evil spirits and evil live beings, I once again call on The Almighty.

Psalm 69:16-17
16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
Psalm 73:26
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

IT IS ABOUT TIME WE ARE RECOGNIZING GOD & ASKING FOR HIS DIVINE MERCY--THANX FOR A GREAT ARTICLE

Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate them and will continue the effort!
I personally believe that this country was allowed to be founded by the grace of God. He deserves our gratitude and praise. We have strayed from His precepts, but hopefully we will find our way back.
