Project Valour-IT Update
UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!
The drive continues to raise funds for our troops and so far the tally is about $43,000 raised through Soldiers' Angels! The Marines' team is leading the pack, but according to Marines' team leader Cassandra, the Army team is nipping at our heels. So we Marines' supporters have to step up the efforts!
Apart from the update on the monetary efforts, Cassandra's update contained a link to a love story between two Marines. Take a read of their love story here: Marines of the Day
In the 1970 movie "Love Story," the famous line was "love means never having to say you're sorry." In the reel-life story, Oliver gave up his inheritance to marry Jenny. She became ill and died an early death.
In the Marine real life love story, the two protagonists turned that saying around into "love means saying 'yes.'" "Yes" to a proposal of marriage after the groom-to-be suffered disfiguring burns doing his job, wounded by an IED, the weapon of choice of the cowardly enemy our troops fight against. Unlike the story of Oliver and Jenny, the story of Aaron and Diana did not end in death. The Aaron and Diana story continues with life and birth. Diana said "yes" to Aaron's marriage proposal. Madeline was the result. Here is the proof:

Aaron and Diana Mankin were fittingly designated "Marines of the Day," on the Villanous Company Website!
Another inspiring story is that of Spc Monica Lin Brown, who was scheduled to receive the Silver Star for valor, for coming to the aid of fellow troops who were wounded in an attack by insurgents. She ran towards the burning vehicle of her fellow troops, while the insurgents were raining down bullets.
Read the full story at the following link to find out why she is indeed, A woman of substance.
Folks, as I keep repeating: "We are not worthy. But, we are blessed." We truly have the best men and women serving, or who have served as our protectors. God bless America. God bless our troops. Please open up the wallets, even in these tough times.
