I Come To Praise President Obama
In the field of education, the president was really a master teacher. He stated that he had been to all “57 states.” Many were derisive and thought that he did not know that the US, at this time, has 50 states. I came to see this differently. The president deliberately used the number 57 to make sure that we were remaining alert as a nation, so that no one could try to slip in another 7 states while the “sleeping giant” was sleeping. He tested us once again, this time in the matter of elocution. He pronounced Marine Corps, as “Corpse” – dead body. Again deliberate. This was his sly way of bringing to our attention the major improvements that need to be made in education, at all levels of society, beginning at the White House.
He whined, er opined about being treated “like a dog” by the political opposition. To some this appeared to be a prima facie case of a deliberate slur against dog owners, some of whom, really do treat their dogs better than kids. This could have caused his party to lose the votes of dog owners. But I really think that he caused an increase of votes by dog owners who were really puffed up with pride that their little Fido and Butch were being compared to the president! His cunning showed that we can after all, “teach an old dog new tricks!”
The president continued with educating us about the correct use of words, after a brouhaha erupted over his "enemies" list, so to speak. He wanted us to get the difference between the word “enemies” and the word “opponents.” He used “enemies” to describe the Republicans and anyone who disagreed with him. He also changed “war on terror” to “man-made disasters.” At least he did not call the Republicans “terrorists” and call the practitioners of man-made disasters, “opponents.” We all now know the difference, so maybe he is owed thanks for that lesson. I have to come clean though. I still like to call a terrorist a terrorist and the fight against their kind “war on terror,” or even more specifically “war against terrorist scum!” Oops. I forgot that I am writing for polite company. Mea culpa.
The president raised the consciousness of the nation about driving and the different shifts and gears that should be engaged. He really was trying to get teenage drivers just learning that specific skill, to learn the nuances of maneuvering behind the wheel of a vehicle. We learned about putting the car in D, taking the car out of R, and shoving the Republicans to the back of the bus, I mean in the back of the car. No other president has had such an impact on maneuvering vehicles in the history of the Republic.
When it became necessary for the nation to be psychoanalyzed, the president assumed the role of “Psychiatrist-in-Chief,” by ascribing the nation’s apparent rejection of his hope and change strategy, to being “scared.” That was another master stroke and a financial windfall for individual citizens. Instead of having to pay a costly visit to a professional, the president was able to send that diagnosis over the airwaves. Citizens were able to record their own symptoms and take appropriate measures. They apparently did this on November 2. Unfortunately, they appeared to fire their PIC. It was not a pretty sight, seeing the “inmates” taking over the asylum. The voters, as that Rhode Island Democratic gubernatorial candidate said about the president, appeared to tell the president, that he can "shove it."
Governor Brewer should send a thank you note to the president. There was Arizona getting some publicity with SB 1070, but not in the stratosphere. Then the Justice Department of the president decided to sue Arizona. Bingo…worldwide publicity! This was further ramped up when Arizona was “outed” to the United Nations in a report about Arizona’s infringement of the civil rights of illegal aliens who took the opportunity of the open borders federal policy, to take up residence in Arizona and the other 49 states. This judge appears to be going against the Justice Dept. of the president. I hope the judge does not interfere with the president’s apparent strategy to bring publicity to this law, and save the lives of citizens of Arizona, because illegal aliens who are killers, are skipping that state. The president may deserve credit for saving lives in Arizona.
The president came through once again, master teacher that he is. He has been showing the American people how big spenders operate. He really excelled in this arena and broke spending records that stood for centuries. The national debt is at $13 trillion. Not only did the president show how to increase the financial responsibility of the nation, he also showed how those in power should live and travel in style. I am having difficulty calculating that according to a recently printed article, his trip to Mumbai, is going to cost $200 million per day. The following details are giving me a Mumbai style headache:
Mumbai: The US would be spending a whopping $200 million (Rs. 900 crore approx) per day on President Barack Obama's visit to the city.
About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already here for the past one week with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments.
As much as I hate to go against the president and his attempts to educate us in financial matters, I am praying that he reconsiders this trip. How about a trip to the Grand Canyon?
I left the president’s greatest accomplishment for last. I consider him the “Godfather of the Tea Party Movement.” I know that financial Journalist Rick Santelli has been called the “father.” But the president deserves some of the credit. He “skillfully” shepherded the aptly named “Obamacare,” for which he definitely deserves another acknowledgement. This, after showing the dead King George III, how a real monarch operates. Had he not ruled with this imperial style, the ire of the Tea Partiers would not have been aroused. They, like many of us, would have continued their slumber while the wheels of government rolled along. The billboard-sized and ham-fisted thrust of raw power jolted us wide awake.
After the “shoving” that many in his party received, at the congressional and local levels, the president came out to give his take on the events of November 2, 2010.
President Obama, reflecting on the Democrats' historic losses in Congress in the midterm election, appealed Wednesday for both parties to find "common ground" while continuing to stand by his administration's policies.
Does “common ground” mean that he will take back what he said to Republicans?
“ We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back."
Will there not be a repeat on his part of the gloating of “we won,” as he bluntly told Republican leaders who were trying to engage him in policy discussions?
"No party has a monopoly on wisdom," the president said. "I want to engage both Democrats and Republicans...I do believe there is hope for civility. I do believe there's hope for progress."
Had I been advising the president, I would have counseled rephrasing the above to say: “let us pray to God for wisdom, especially on my part.” I would have had him state: “I take back what I said about ‘we are the one we have been waiting for.’” I would also lay off the “hope a dope.” The “dopes” have gained wisdom, most of them anyway, and they see through the subterfuge. They voted with the wisdom that he thrust upon them. He should have also used the opportunity to retract the little bit about the oceans and what his coming to power was going to cause them to do. Humility is the key to success. The president should follow the advice in this article, given by one of his fellow Democrats to “treat the voters like adults." It is that simple.
Sir Winston Churchill once remarked, “the American people invariably do the right thing, after they have exhausted the alternatives.” The alternatives offered by the president exhausted the people and the economy of the US. The people did the “right thing,” except in those areas where the “political way,” which means the people lose, was employed. Hopefully, we have a wise president who will now do the right thing before he makes himself irrelevant to the process.

"...pray to God..." just isn't going to happen with Obama. It's his "Change" that is his dogma for himself & not America. Good article!
